They seek Senior Software Engineers to be part of a team to design, implement and test a GSM-R Cab Radio for the Railway Industry.

You will need to be degree qualfieid or equivalent. Also have a strong and varied technical background and be able to demonstrate a successful track record in the delivery of software projects throughout each stage of the development cycle.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

Typically, responsibility falls into one of several broad areas, individuals may develop their competencies to move from one area to another. Typical areas include:
Responsibilities for complete engineering workpackage(s), including some team leadership responsibilities. The workpackage will be defined in terms of budget, timescales and scope. This may include technical management of subcontractors.
Systems engineering responsibilities including provision of correct and timely technical and engineering input to projects and bids. Capable of contributing in a hands-on manner to all phases of an engineering project; including systems analysis and design, implementation, validation and test, and engineering support to site commissioning.
Sales engineering responsibilities, including provision of technical and engineering solutions for bids and tenders and capable of dealing well with customers and suppliers.
Development engineering responsibilities for complex technical development work, including all elements of the product development lifecycle applicable to the product domain.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –

Responsible for technical and engineering element of a project, product, tender, key account area, or workpackage item.
Responsible for estimating cost, resources programme and risk for engineering projects and activities. Responsible for achieving budgets, timescale, quality and performance targets.
Individuals may at times have project responsibility for an engineering team and will be responsible for ensuring that all work is conducted safely and to the required standards.
Responsible for maintaining and developing own professional competence and encouraging and assisting persons working under their supervision similarly.
Responsible for ensuring that persons working under their supervision are competent to carry out tasks assigned to them and that they accept personal responsibility for work done under the authority delegated to them.

CORE SKILLS –

You should have experience in the following :

UML, Fusion, SDL, C, C++, QNX Neutrino, Posix, Telelogic Tau, Codewarrior

Embedded software design and development (preferably on projects based on Intel processors operating with Posix compliant Operating Systems).
