Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Reports to: Project Development Manager
Purpose of role:
To take a leading role in the design, implementation and release of Our client's Secure Client Provisioning product.
Key responsibilities/activities:
Responsible (as part of a small team) for the development of Our client's Secure Client Provisioning Software for mobile phones. The individual will help design and develop key functionality to provide the mechanisms behind the provisioning of rich media services and platform revisions on a variety of mobile devices. They will also ensure that such implementations have been developed with portability and test automation in mind. The person will report to the Project Manager leading the project.
Person Specification:
Formal education & training:
Degree in a computing or engineering discipline.
Mandatory Experience:
A minimum of 3 years system software (embedded) development experience within the mobile phone handset software stack, ideally working for a mobile phone handset manufacturers or a phone software stack supplier.
Proven C / assembly language (ARM based) programming experience in an embedded environment with a working knowledge of NT or UNIX development.
An understanding of handset software stack architectures and internal workings on mobile operating systems (Nucleus, Microsoft Stinger, EPOC, etc.)
Knowledge of mobile communications protocol standards, TDMA, CDMA, SMS, HTTP, TCP/IP, and wireless systems (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, etc.)
Optional Experience:
Understanding of the mobile phone market / service providers / content providers / current and future handset devices.
Awareness of the Application Management Systems (AMS).

Ability to communicate concepts and ideas clearly
